Treehugger I’m not really into commercial blogs on this site but I’m forced to ask myself, where is the line as several of the blogs I’ve listed are already very commercial. I also categorize some blogs by what they are worth, so I’m being slightly hypocritical.
All of which is an excuse, not that I need one, to include tree hugger. It is one of the best looking blogs on the net and it totally on the money in terms of content. Yes it is about Green issues and its true they often seem worthy in tone. This has the right degree of irony and has bags of charm yet it is ture to the central issue of sustainable living without seeming like a club you have to be, vegan eat bio yogurt and use real nappies to join. As all parent know your principal go right out the window faced with twins a real nappies. I know I’m ashamed too and some people do use terry nappies but twins? Any how once they harness the methane from Landfill my twins will be providing sustainable energy for future generations.
GO look at the blog, make up your own ming. I enjoyed it and will return regularly because joking aside this is a way to go in making us realize this is an issue but not one that needs extreme or almost religious diatribe to confront. I expect some one is going to tell me the Treehugger is Al Gore in which case I may have to rewrite all the above.

Two Write Hands (and two left feet) This is very much a Seinfeld blog form a very good writer indeed. This is what she says about herself,
I’ve been told I can write, but no one ever told me I could dance. Find here the brainwork of a 27-year-old college student, published writer, and self-proclaimed genius. Follow my blog and one day say “you knew me when.” Or you could just point out my typos.
Good News is she is right, she can write. She sometimes goes against the rule of brevity that I’ve talk about but the thing is, this is a sticky blog if you are prepared to do some reading! Basically these are her observations of life as a 27 year old student, her life and her thoughts and I happy to report she is an interesting person. On a personal note I am beginning to think that my upbringing in a single parent female home is effecting my reviews.
2020 Hindsight someone else described this as a zeitgeist blog. It is a perfect description essentially an anonymous author with nothing personal at all except the insight from looking and reading about a personal collection of interesting things. It is a sticky blog, a browsing blog. A place to spend some time. Interestingly this blog is worth
How much is your blog worth?
The 2020 Hindsight blog is worth $0.00.
nothing! Which either means it is not technorati savvy or no one reads it, so you can change that because its good.
NB
I stand corrected, the blog is worth far more than 0 turns out leaving out the www causes a difference of $73,390.20.
Well now I know, not a review of a blog but just a comment that confirms my view of Blogs on the net.
This from the Guardian UK
One significant trend that stands out is an apparent feminisation of the internet. “Ever since it kicked off in the early 90s the web has been male-dominated. For the
first time this year women are spending more time on the internet than men,” says Peter Phillips, strategy and market developments partner at Ofcom, referring to web users in the 25 to 49 age bracket. “It’s a big shift and has implications for the kind of content that content providers want to have on the internet.”Among 25- to 34-year-olds, women now spend more time using the internet than men, according to the Ofcom report published today. Although men account for the majority of web time in most other age groups, women have also taken a slight but significant lead in the 35-49 bracket.
Lazylaces now I admit this review is biased. I set out to find a blog I liked by a man. One that wasn’t about SEO or making money. This is one of the top games blogs, its British and written by a man, Graeme. The look is great it takes a bit of getting used to the home page is home to hundreds of those rather annoying point and click games you often get in your in box. A lot of them are in Japanese! So why do I like it? Because it is cool and you get to know the bloke who wrote it, despite the guise of a game blog it is all about him and I just found myself clicking around and browsing. Like TV today the trick is to have something sticky. Something that makes people stay a while and look around. So now I have two new phrases the sticky blog and the Seinfeld.
Joey Moggie Is another great site, top 10 in several on line stats directories - 5 Topblogsites - 6 skinny - and more. All with very good reason. This lady from a small island in Canada captures the mood of the people and herself in her posts. Again the key seems to be get to the point, all the posts are short pithy and say what needs to be said. Perhaps a but too much “fuel” in the sidebar but honestly we all want to be read! I enjoyed it very much, I am looking at a lot of blogs but so far the women have it by a mile. I wonder why there are not more women comedians when they all seem to capture life so well?
Lady Banana Blog I can see that I’m really liking blogs by women at the moment. The writing is usually funny, often quirky and not normally about making money through blogging and very rarely about SEO.
Lady Banana is an English woman who simply writes about the things that take her fancy. I’m going to create a new blog category called A Seinfeld Blog, essentially Blogs about nothing. But as Seinfeld proved our lives are about nothing. A conversation about why a person eats a muffin top first and often leaves the bun part, has more interesting relevance to our lives than the news that gang violence is becoming rife in the UK. I’m not belittling either piece of information but I bet you were nodding internally to the first statement.
The best Blogs are about the lives and thoughts of others. David Liddiment, former head of UK broadcast network ITV, once said, “people live their lives vicariously through TV,” very true and now we are starting do it through blogs. Lady Banana Blog is a perfect example of this. I read post after post, I was captivated, instantly hooked by her! Give it a visit you will spend an hour, living a virtual affair with this joyous woman.
Eavesdrop Writer Blog This is one of those wonderful ideas that is superbly executed. I writer who comments on everyday life through conversation she has overheard. It is some of the most inspired writing I’ve come across because of the social comment in the subtext. Do give it a visit.
About the Author
I’m in law enforcement by day and a writer by night…often into the wee hours of the morning! This is my first blog and I created it as a place to store my character development resources. I began to think it might spark some creativity in others, too, so here I am. I love writing, reading, eating and road trips. I enjoy family and friends, but also treasure the mysterious world I enter when I write.
Lifehacker this is one of the best examples of a blog on the net. If you want your blog to rise up the charts this is the way to do it. Every post is a gem and averages about 10 sentences. This blog was at the time of writing 6th in the technorati top 100 and with very good reason. The posts are simply pearls of wisdom for a more productive life. The blog is commercial, I bet it didn’t start out as such, clearly now it is a business. Nothing wrong with that it is an example to us all. So visit, study and implement!
Humanclock.com this idea is simply far to cool. It comes under the “Why Didn’t I Think of That” school of thought. A question no one should ever find the answer too because it will cause self esteem issues. I this instance the reason I didn’t think of it could be that I’m really not that cool! Often the answer to “Why Didn’t I Think of That” is simply “because you are not a clever as the person who did, you never were and you never will be! See what I mean self esteem is now sub zero. Well Craig Giffen who came up with Human Clock is uber cool. The idea is simple like all good ideas. A Photo the displays the real time of day is its self displayed every second of the day. Some Craig took himself others are sent in by fans of the site. Take look it is fantastic. The writing on the site is great funny quirky and understated. This is one of the BEST BLOGS EVER.
GadgetTastic I really like this site. There are a lot of gadget and tech blogs out there but this one is a goody. Great pictures, short posts that are very readable and no jargon. It is very up to date and I have nothing bad to say about it. A few years ago people thought gadget were boys toys, I don’t think so anymore. Thanks to computers, cell phones and the ipod we’ve entered the sexless age of gadgets, we even have a pink playstation! Oh, is that for girls, perhaps I have that wrong?
